Dear model flying enthusiasts and fellow association members in Europe,
IG Hangflug and the German Model Flying Association (DMFV) are launching an international model flying festival on the Wasserkuppe in the Rhön Mountains in Hesse from 14 to 17 August 2025. In addition to flying on one of the beautiful slopes, there will be numerous other activities on the programme: workshops, games and fun, a tour of the gliding museum, a guided hike through the biosphere reserve, a festival party with live DJ and much more.Accommodation will be provided at the djo-Landesheim Rodholz in Poppenhausen at the foot of the Wasserkuppe. Multilingual support for participants on site will be provided by volunteer model flyers from the two organising associations.
The event is supported by IG Hangflug and DMFV in terms of ideas, personnel and finances, which is why the total price per participant, including three nights' accommodation, full board, shuttle buses and all start and entry fees, is only EUR 99.00. Around 60 participants from Poland, France and Germany have already registered for the model flying festival. We would be delighted if other nations would also accept the invitation to the Wasserkuppe. Registration in German, English and French is possible at https://www.dmfv.aero/modellflug-festival-2025/
